The Massachusetts DPU has approved new purchase of receivables discount rates (standard complete billing percentages) at National Grid, effective May 1, 2019.

As exclusively first reported by EnergyChoiceMatters.com, the residential POR discount rate will increase 50% to 2.58%, from 1.72%

The adopted May 1, 2019 National Grid Massachusetts POR discounts are:

              Residential  Commercial  Industrial
Uncollectible    2.32%       0.75%       0.06%
Admin Cost       0.00%       0.00%       0.00%
Reconciliation   0.26%      -0.07%      -0.01%
Total            2.58%       0.68%       0.05%

For comparison, National Grid's current POR discounts are:

              Residential  Commercial  Industrial
Uncollectible    2.00%       0.81%       0.06%
Admin Cost       0.00%       0.00%       0.00%
Reconciliation  -0.28%       0.02%      -0.02%
Total            1.72%       0.83%       0.04%
