Just Energy In "Advanced Discussions" With Potential Buyer For Its Overseas Retail Energy Businesses

In an MD&A for the quarter ending June 30, 2019, Just Energy provided the additional detail that it was in "advanced discussions" with a potential buyer for its retail energy businesses outside of North America
EnergyChoiceMatters.com had first reported on the evening of August 14, with an alert to our email alert subscribers, that Just Energy had announced plans to dispose of its assets in the U.K. due to a decision taken during its previously reported strategic review (story here)
In an MD&A, Just Energy further said, "In March 2019, Just Energy formally approved and commenced the process to dispose of its businesses in Germany, Ireland and Japan.
In June 2019, as part of the Company’s strategic review, the U.K. was added to the disposal group. The decision was part of a strategic
transition to focus on the core business in North America. Just Energy is in advanced discussions with a potential buyer, and the
disposal of the operations is expected to be completed within the next 12 months."
