Prosumer-Focused, Energy-As-A-Service Retail Supplier Registers As New York DER Provider (Solar, Storage, DR)

David Energy Supply, LLC, whose services include retail energy supply, has filed with the New York PSC a Distributed Energy Resource Supplier (DERS) Registration Form

David Energy said that it filed the registration to be able to partner with community solar project developers, provide onsite mass market distributed energy generation services, and enroll customers in retail and wholesale demand response programs. David Energy also listed storage as a service to be offered

David Energy's launch as a retail supplier had been exclusively first reported by EnergyChoiceMatters.com in November 2019

"David Energy is a new kind of retail electricity provider whose software-driven approach slashes costs while simplifying the energy management process," the company said in announcing the close of a $1.5 million Pre-Seed round co-led by Box Group and Greycroft in early 2020 (see details and more background on David Energy here)

David Energy currently serves a variety of commercial and industrial customers, including large property owners, industrial manufacturing plants, and universities.

"It has plans to offer electric service to residential customers on a limited basis," David Energy said in its registration

David Energy is registered as an ESCO in New York (electric, gas) and also recently received its New Jersey retail electric supplier license

David Energy has a pending application for a Massachusetts retail electric supplier license

In sample marketing materials, David Energy promotes itself as, "the first electricity provider to cater exclusively to customers with distributed energy resources."
