Start-up Texas retail electric provider Energy Texas has gone live with its offers

The creation of Energy Texas, run by several Texas retail electric market veterans, had been exclusively first reported by EnergyChoiceMatters.com (see background on the company here)

As previously reported, Energy Texas was founded by Chief Executive Officer Robbie Wright, Senior Vice President of Customer Experience Katherine Wright, Chief Marketing Officer Liz Maberry, and Vice President of Supply James Malick

Among the offerings of Energy Texas is a plan called "Come & Take It."

Other plans have similar names which reflect Texas landmarks or heritage, including plans named The Gruene, Bigger Than Texas, and Lone Star

In the CenterPoint Energy Houston Electric service area, the Come & Take It 12 plan is a 100% renewable, 12-month fixed plan with an average all-in rate of 10.9 cents per kWh, at 1,000 kWh usage. This reflects a Base Charge of $4.95 per billing cycle, an Energy Charge of 5.3300¢ per kWh, and CenterPoint Delivery Charges of $4.39 per billing cycle and 4.6029¢ per kWh

A $150 early termination fee applies to the plan

Under the plan, customers will receive an $18.36 bill credit on their 2nd and 4th bill when the customer pays the bill on time. Customers receive a $5 bill credit each month when enrolled in autopay and paperless communications

Energy Texas offers a rewards program under which customers may earn credits that can be used to discount their energy bill; receive gift cards, smart thermostats, air filters, or plugs and light bulbs; or to direct charitable donations

Rewards are earned by: Making payments on time; Enrolling in autopay; Switching to paperless billing; Conserving energy during peak times; and (coming soon) Referring a friend or family member

As part of the rewards program, customers can also enter a monthly lotto for rewards such as: Free electricity for an entire year; Vacations to Texas destination spots; appliances; Texas sports games; and cash

Energy Texas is offering the first bill free for enrollments on 18 or 24 month plans
