Retail Supplier Withdraws Complaint At PUC Which Had Alleged Misrepresentation By Competitor

Complainant, Interstate Gas Supply, Inc., d/b/a IGS Energy, jointly with Respondent, Santanna Natural Gas Corporation, d/b/a Santanna Energy Services, filed a motion requesting that the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio dismiss with prejudice a complaint filed by IGS against Santanna, as Complainant and Respondent have reached an agreement to resolve the complaint.

As exclusively first reported by EnergyChoiceMatters.com, IGS had in 2019 filed a complaint alleging that Santanna sales representatives made representations to customers with the alleged intent to mislead IGS’ customers into believing that the Santanna representatives were affiliated with IGS

In an answer, Santanna had stated, "Santanna asserts as an affirmative defense that it has never conducted business, or authorized another party to conduct business on its behalf, using the name IGS Energy or any other name that is not Santanna."

Santanna had moved to dismiss what it called a "cookie cutter" complaint

The parties stated that they have reached a total settlement concerning the matter.

"Given that Complainant and Respondent have reached a total settlement of the matters raised in the Complaint, there is no further controversy pending in this matter. Therefore, the parties move the Commission to dismiss this matter with prejudice," the parties said

The motion to dismiss did not include any further details concerning the settlement reached by the parties
