New York PSC Schedules Technical Conference On Broker Regulation Order

Staff of the New York Department of Public Service will convene a technical conference on August 8, 2023, to discuss the requirements of PSL Section 66-t, the new broker/consultant regulation statute, as provided in the PSC's order implementing the law
As previously reported, the PSC directed DPS Staff to convene a technical conference to discuss the regulatory requirements provided for by Public Service Law (PSL) Section 66-t and the amendments to the Uniform Business Practices (UBP) for Energy Service Companies (ESCOs) and Distributed Energy Resource entities (DERs).
The Commission has directed that the purpose of the technical conference is to, "provide a forum for stakeholders to raise any questions regarding the nature and extent of the requirements."

The technical conference will be conducted as a hybrid meeting with room available for in-person attendance at the Department of Public Service office locations in Albany,
New York City, and Buffalo. Those intending to participate in person at any of these locations must email a specific DPS contact listed in the notice of the technical conference (filed in Case 23-M-0106 on July 27) by no later than August 2, 2023, to comply with security arrangements.
Participation via WebEx and teleconference will also be available, with information contained in Staff's July 27 notice of the conference filed in Case 23-M-0106
"To help ensure efficient use of stakeholder time," interested entities are requested to submit questions and/or proposals for topics to be covered in advance by emailing them to a specific DPS contact listed in the July 27 notice of the technical conference (filed in Case 23-M-0106) by August 2, 2023.
