Update On New REP, An "Electric Company Integrated On The Blockchain"

Maison Energy LLC has re-applied for an Option 1 Texas retail electric provider certificate
EnergyChoiceMatters.com had exclusively first reported the forthcoming launch of Maison Energy LLC, which is apparently under the umbrella of Maison Reserve & Co., which in 2021 said that it, "launche[d] the world's first cryptocurrency tethered to the supply and demand of real products, backed by R&D, manufacturing, distribution, sales, and loyalty rewards, on a transparent and fool-proof ledger — Blockchain."

Our prior story also includes a description of how the profit associated with a customer purchase is returned to the customer via crypto (the example is on Maison Reserve & Co.'s website and it is not clear if the exact same process will be used for retail energy)
Maison Energy LLC's website now describes the retail provider as, "An electric company integrated on the blockchain, with crypto rewards and bill pay."
Maison Energy LLC's website now also states, "Monthly Cash-back. Receive MAISON cash-back (our profit from your electric bill) every month, credited to your crypto wallet."
Maison Energy LLC's website also includes the following language:
"Get back 100% of the monthly profit generated from your electric bill."
"Lowest price per kWh -- Guaranteed"
"Our profit margin is displayed and given right back to you"
"Up to 50% cash-back every month"
"After cash-back, the rate you pay is what our cost was."
"Get automatic cash-back applied to your crypto wallet every month."
"$150 credit for switching"
Maison Energy LLC on its website, under "Pre-signup" also touts, "Qualify for up to $2,500
in signup bonus!"
Under "Bonus details", the amount of the bonus varies with the size of the customer's residence, from a $187 bonus for 750 sqft, 1 bedroom home (~500 kWh) to a "$1,125+" bonus for a 4+ bedroom home (~3,500 kWh)
Maison Energy LLC had previously filed for a Texas REP certificate in 2023 but withdrew the application without prejudice
In its REP application, Maison did not seek authorization to collect customer deposits or prepayments.
