Public Grid Seeks Licenses In New State

Cottage Energy, Inc. d/b/a Public Grid applied for a Massachusetts electric broker license, and a Massachusetts retail natural gas agent license
As previously reported, Public Grid, founded in 2022, focuses on aggregating demand and placing customers on renewable energy plans. Thus far, it has been active in New York, and has focused on multi-family properties.

Under its Massachusetts electric broker application, Public Grid sought authority to serve residential customers in all service areas.
Hamilton Ventures and Redbud VC each separately in 2023 announced investments into Public Grid
In announcing its investment into Public Grid in 2023, Hamilton Ventures had said that Public Grid had strategic partnerships in place with Moved, Invesco, and GreyStar
Public Grid is led by several tech industry veterans, including Zack Schmitz, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer, a self-described, "technology unicorn".
Joe Robbins serves as Public Grid Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer, and Ryan Freed serves as a strategic advisor to the company
Public Grid touts, "100% renewable energy, no extra cost," and "Automated savings programs".
