NextVolt Energy, part of the Power 1 Energy Company (P1EC), has officially launched retail electric service in the ERCOT market in Texas
NextVolt's Texas launch has begun with offerings in the Oncor service area, with service rolling out more broadly over the coming days and weeks
"[T]his expansion into Texas marks a significant milestone in NextVolt’s rapid national growth and reflects P1EC’s ongoing commitment to delivering scalable, customer-focused energy solutions in deregulated markets across the U.S.," P1EC said
Cullen Hay, President of NextVolt Energy, said that, in the past year, NextVolt entered or is about to enter five new states, with NextVolt poised to grow "aggressively" over the next five years
NextVolt is already active in Ohio, Illinois, and Delaware, and is preparing to launch in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Washington D.C. in the coming months.
"Market expansion into D.C., New Jersey, and Pennsylvania -- alongside our Texas launch -- will increase our company size overnight and begin to march NextVolt toward being a formidable competitive retailer," Hay said
P1EC said, "The successful ERCOT entry was made possible through strategic internal investments led by key members of the NextVolt leadership team. Keith Dezern, SVP of Digital Sales & Operations, spearheaded the company’s digital platform transformation, enabling scalable and cost-effective customer growth. Meagan Eure, VP of Digital Operations & Retention, and her team have been instrumental in creating a customer care experience centered on satisfaction and one-call resolution."
In the Oncor service area, NextVolt is offering a 12-month fixed rate with an all-in average rate, at 1,000 kWh usage, of 16.3 cents per kWh, which reflects an energy charge of 10.91 cents per kWh and TDU charges of $4.23 per billing cycle and 5.0029 cents per kWh. A $149 early termination fee applies
