State's Largest Municipal Aggregation Seeks Broker Licenses
The following story is brought free of charge to readers by VertexOne, the exclusive EDI provider of EnergyChoiceMatters.com
Northeast Ohio Public Energy Council (NOPEC) d/b/a Energy VisionSM applied for Ohio electric and natural gas broker and aggregator licenses (separate from its existing, distinct opt-out government aggregator authority)
NOPEC applied to serve all types and sizes of non-residential customers in all service areas as a broker/aggregator
As Ohio's largest, public governmental electricity and natural gas aggregator,
NOPEC serves approximately 240 Ohio counties, townships, and municipal
corporations located in 20 Ohio counties
NOPEC stated, "NOPEC is seeking certification as a power broker/aggregator under the
name Energy VisionSM to assist commercial and industrial ('C&I') customers with
obtaining competitive electric pricing." (NOPEC made a similar statement with respect to natural gas brokering)
NOPEC stated, "Energy VisionSM, a NOPEC program, is designed to provide competitive electric
supply rates for C&I accounts that are not eligible for NOPEC’s electric aggregation
program. Energy VisionSM will offer services to obtain customized pricing and access to
ancillary services to meet diverse business needs and help businesses and
organizations manage their energy usage effectively. Instead of being served by a
standard aggregation program, these non-residential accounts will be directly served
by a CRES [retail] provider arranged by Energy VisionSM." (NOPEC made a similar statement with respect to natural gas brokering)
