Update On Enron Energy Texas REP Application (5/20)

While EnergyChoiceMatters.com typically does not cover routine or administrative developments in retail supplier licensing proceedings, because of intense reader interest in the Texas REP application of Enron Energy Texas LLC ("Enron"), ECM provides the following update for those counting the days since the initial application.
On May 20, Staff of the Public Utility Commission of Texas issued a request for information to Enron Energy Texas LLC
The issuance of the RFIs does not itself delay the deadline for PUC action on Enron's REP application
Except where good cause is shown to extend consideration, the Texas REP certification rules require the PUC to issue an order approving, rejecting, or approving with modifications a REP application within 90 days of a finding that the application is sufficient for further review. As previously reported, the Enron application was found sufficient for further review on May 12, 2025
The RFIs relate to the prior risk management and competitive electric or gas industry experience of Gregory Forero, Vice President & Executive Manager of Enron Energy Texas, and, per the public portion of Enron's application, an individual upon whom Enron Energy Texas LLC is relying to meet the required necessary prior risk management and competitive electric or gas industry experience
The RFIs issued by PUC Staff were specifically as follows:
Staff 1-1 Please refer to the resume of Gregory Forero:
a. From which positions did Mr. Forero gain experience in risk management?
b. Provide the contact information of each entity listed in Attachments D-2 and D-3 from which Mr. Forero gained experience in risk management or in the competitive electric or gas industries.
c. For any experience gained outside of Texas, provide proof that Mr. Forero worked in a competitive electric or gas market
