PSC Directs Task Force To Propose Improvements To Address Impacts From PJM Capacity Auctions

The District of Columbia PSC has directed a PSC-created task force to develop and file recommendations on what improvements might be made locally to address the impacts of the PJM 2025/2026 delivery year capacity auction
on District consumers
A report on such recommendations shall be filed by
October 31, 2025
The PSC said that this schedule will allow the Task Force to, "continue to discuss ideas related to the long-term issues surrounding
the capacity auction."
The PSC also directed the task force to, by July 31, 2025, submit a report on the financial impacts of the July 2024 PJM capacity auction for the 2025/2026 delivery year, and to report on the education and outreach
plan used to assist consumers in understanding and preparing for the new charges which take effect in June 2025.
Members of the Task Force, which was created last year, consist of Pepco, the D.C Office of People's Counsel, the District
of Columbia Assistant City Administrator, the Apartment and Office Building Association of
Metropolitan Washington, the District of Columbia Department of Energy and Environment, the
Office of the Attorney General for the District of Columbia, PJM Interconnection L.L.C., the
District of Columbia Sustainable Energy Utility, and PSC Staff.
