National Grid Mass Market Default Service Rates To Increase 5-7%

National Grid in Massachusetts has filed proposed electric basic service rates for the period starting August 1, 2025.

The proposed rates for the period beginning August 1, 2025 described below include a pending proposed update to the Basic Service Administrative Cost Factor (BSACF), and also include the applicable Smart Grid Customer Cost Adjustment Factor (SGCCAF). The current rates described below include the currently effective BSACF and SGCCAF

For residential customers, National Grid's fixed basic service rate is proposed to be 15.484 cents per kWh for the period 8/1/25 to 1/31/26, which is about 5% higher than the current rate of 14.672 cents per kWh

For commercial customers, National Grid's fixed basic service rate is proposed to be 14.411 cents per kWh for the period 8/1/25 to 1/31/26, which is about 7% higher than the current rate of 13.409 cents per kWh
