European Retail Supplier Creates U.S. Retail Natural Gas Supplier

Axpo U.S. LLC applied for a Georgia retail natural gas marketer (supplier) license, after having received a Virginia retail natural gas supplier license earlier this year
In both states, Axpo sought to serve only commercial and industrial customers.
Axpo has no other retail natural gas supplier licenses in the U.S.
In its Georgia application, Axpo said that it does not have any customers or sales to date under the Virginia retail natural gas supplier license.
Axpo U.S. LLC in 2022 received an Option 1 Texas retail electric provider certificate. Based on a February 2025 application for its Virginia retail gas license, Axpo does not hold any other retail electric supplier licenses apart from the Texas REP certificate
In February 2025, Axpo stated that it offered natural gas supply service in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee -- states in which its activities did not require licensure as a supplier. While certain end users may take transportation service in these states, none of these three states have "retail" choice programs for natural gas as defined by the EIA.
In Georgia, "Axpo U.S.’s intent is only to serve large Commercial and Industrial (C&I)
customers," the company said in its Georgia application
Among other services, Axpo in the U.S. provides various wholesale electric and gas supplies and related solutions, including wholesale PPAs intended for end-use customers
Internationally, Axpo is active in serving retail customers in various European markets
