PJM Rest of RTO Capacity Prices Spike Another 21% To Over $300 In 2026-27 BRA

Capacity prices for the Rest of RTO region in PJM's base residual auction for the 2026-27 delivery year spiked 21% to $329.17 per MW-day, compared to the price from the 2025-26 BRA, with the latest capacity price increase coming during a time in which lawmakers in several PJM states have discussed leaving PJM, or implementing other electricity policy reforms, including utility ownership of generation, due to the already high 2025-26 capacity prices (the 2025-26 Rest of RTO clearing price from the 2025-26 BRA had been $269.92/MW-day)

The $329.17 per MW-day price reflects the FERC-established price cap

In the 2026-27 BRA, the BGE zone resource clearing price did decrease versus the 2025-26 BRA, to $329.17 per MW-day versus the 2025-26 BRA result of $466.35/MW-day
