Residential-Focused NRG Retail Suppliers Register As Pennsylvania Conservation Service Providers; "In Discussions With Utilities," About Residential Conservation Programs

The entities Reliant Energy Northeast LLC d/b/a NRG Home; Direct Energy Services, LLC, d/b/a Direct Energy; and Vivint LLC have each separately received a registration as a Pennsylvania Conservation Service Provider (CSP)
In Pennsylvania, a registered CSP can advise an electric distribution company (EDC) and/or provide consultation, design, administration or management services to an EDC related to the EDC’s energy efficiency and conservation plan.
Generally, the above-listed NRG companies stated in their registrations that, "We are in discussions with utilities to assist in the design and execution of their energy efficiency and
conservation programs for retail residential consumers."
Generally, the above-listed NRG companies indicated that they would act as CSPs at the major EDCs, selecting all of the services available to be identified on the registration form, namely, consultation, design, administration, management, and advisory
Several business-focused NRG companies have registered as CSPs in the past, including, as currently listed on the PUC's CSP directory, NRG Business Marketing LLC; NRG Curtailment Solutions, Inc.; and Direct Energy Business, LLC
