"Enron remains committed to providing Texas consumers with better and more reliable energy services than they currently have access to today. We'll have more to share about our next steps soon."
--- Statement from Enron spokesperson
Earlier:
Enron Energy Texas LLC (Enron Energy) filed at the Texas PUC a motion to withdraw Enron Energy Texas LLC's application for a retail electric provider certificate, without prejudice
Enron Energy Texas LLC had applied for an Option 1 Texas REP certificate
Enron Energy Texas LLC stated in the filing, "Due to timing and strategic considerations, Enron Energy respectfully requests to withdraw the Application without prejudice to its right to reapply for certification at a later date."
Additionally, an inquiry to the email address listed on Enron Energy Texas LLC's previously filed amended REP application, dated April 23, 2025, for Gregory Forero, who was listed as, among other roles, Enron Energy Texas LLC's primary contact and authorized representative, generated a reply stating that, "Mr. Forero no longer consults for Enron Energy Texas".
As previously reported, PUC Staff, in Staff's latest recommendation filing, had recommended that the PUC deny, with prejudice, Enron Energy Texas LLC's application for an Option 1 retail electric provider certificate, due to what Staff alleges is "satire" which Staff alleges, when presented alongside legitimate retail electric services, "is misleading and likely to confuse consumers."
In prior filings, Enron Energy Texas LLC has argued that Staff's recommendation is not supported by rule and would be discriminatory, arbitrary and capricious.
