Clean Energy Company Spinning Off REC Marketer Active In Utility Add-On Programs

3Degrees announced that it is spinning off its Utility Partnerships business into a separate company, Onward Climate LLC (Onward).
The Utility Partnerships business includes the offering of RECs as an add-on to utility bills, including historically in some retail choice states
After the transaction’s expected close on November 1, 3Degrees will maintain a minority stake in Onward and serve as its environmental commodity supplier, "while 3Degrees leadership directs its full attention to accelerating the company’s own ambitious growth plans," 3Degrees said
Onward will be led by multi-decade industry veteran Amanda Mortlock, who has led the Utility Partnerships business under 3Degrees since 2016 and will serve as Onward’s President.
