Retail Supplier Raises $1 Billion In Series C Funding, Will Accelerate Expansion

Base Power announced today that it has raised $1 billion in Series C financing, led by Addition.

Base Power said that all other major investors are re-investing, including Trust Ventures, Valor Equity Partners, Thrive Capital, Lightspeed, Andreessen Horowitz, Altimeter, StepStone, Elad Gil, 137 Ventures, Terrain, and Waybury.

New major investors include Ribbit, CapitalG, Spark, BOND, Lowercarbon, Avenir, Glade Brook, Positive Sum, and 1789.

Base said that the funding will accelerate the nationwide availability of its all-in-one energy solution which includes a whole-home backup battery and, in Texas, retail electric supply

Base Power said that, in less than two years, Base has deployed more than 100 MWh of residential battery capacity.

Base plans to expand nationally in the near future.

Base noted that it recently qualified for Texas’s Aggregated Distributed Energy Resource (ADER) program

Base is building its first energy storage and power electronics factory in Austin, Texas, and is already planning for its second
