Retail Supplier Affiliate Secures $600 Million Debt Financing For AI Data Centers, Including 1.2 GW Site In Texas

Lancium, an energy technology and infrastructure company, today announced the close of a $600 million debt financing package to advance its "clean campus" AI data center development strategy, beginning with the 1.2 GW Lancium Clean Campus in Abilene, Texas, which Lancium said is, "the first site of the Stargate initiative, a multi-stakeholder AI infrastructure program backed by SoftBank, OpenAI, Oracle, and MGX that seeks to deploy a U.S. network of hyperscale AI data centers."
"The proceeds of this financing will support Abilene as the first Stargate site while also providing flexibility to use funds to develop additional projects in Lancium's portfolio," Lancium said
The deal was arranged by Santander Corporate & Investment Banking serving as debt financial advisor, sole structuring bank, sole underwriter, left lead, and administrative agent.
Lancium operates an Option 2 retail electric provider, Lancium QSE I LLC.

Under a proposed merger under which Texas-New Mexico Power Company would become an indirect subsidiary of Troy ParentCo LLC (Troy) and Blackstone Infrastructure, Lancium QSE I LLC (and Lancium REP I, LLC if granted a REP certificate) would become a competitive affiliate of TNMP, due to Blackstone's investment and stake in Lancium LLC.
