New Texas PUC Commissioner Sworn In

Morgan Johnson was sworn in this week as commissioner of the Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUCT) after being appointed by Texas Governor Greg Abbott on Oct. 23, 2025.
Johnson previously served as the deputy general counsel for the Office of the Governor of Texas.
Prior to working in the Office of the Governor, Johnson served as senior counsel to the executive director at the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, and previously served as senior counsel to a commissioner at TCEQ.
Johnson's term is set to expire on Sept. 1, 2031.
