Vistra Reports Growth In Residential Retail Customer Counts In Texas, Strong Margins

Vistra reported that its Retail segment posted Adjusted EBITDA of $37 million for the quarter ending September 30, 2025 (Q3 2025), down from $102 million a year ago
Vistra said that the Q3 2025 Retail Adjusted EBITDA was unfavorable as compared to Q3 2024 primarily due to weather-driven gains in the summer of 2024 not repeating in 2025, and expected intra-year timing impacts of supply cost
Vistra said that the third quarter of 2025 still saw strong customer count and margin performance, as had been seen in the first six months of 2025
Vistra reported that year-to-date 2025 Retail Adjusted EBITDA was $977 million, up from $863 million a year ago, primarily driven by, "strong residential customer counts and margin performance, including year-over-year favorability in supply costs."
Vistra said that the Retail segment remains on track to outperform 2024 results
In discussing the Retail segment, Vistra reported: "Strong margins driving Adj. EBITDA growth".
Vistra said that the Retail segment grew residential counts in Texas within the quarter, and year over year
Retail volumes increased 5% YoY driven by continued growth in the business markets segment
"Residential results and large business markets sales performance [are] well ahead of expectations," Vistra said
Vistra is serving approximately 5 million residential, commercial, and industrial retail
customers
