NRG's Vivint Offers New Security & Energy Management System With Pro Installation, Monitoring Priced To Target DIY Market

Vivint introduced a new "essential security and energy management system", called HomeProtect, which Vivint said offers homeowners, "premium safety and peace of mind at a price point usually reserved for DIY and self-monitored options."
Starting at $199.99 for equipment and $24.99/month for monitoring, Vivint HomeProtect customers receive installation and service from Vivint technicians, and 24/7 U.S.-based professional monitoring
"HomeProtect also introduces new foundational security components from Vivint, including longer-range keypads and sensors connected to a panel-free hub designed for a no-frills approach to security controlled at anytime, anywhere through the Vivint app," Vivint said
Each Vivint HomeProtect plan includes:

• 24/7 Professional Monitoring
• Professional installation

HomeProtect customers can choose between two pricing options:
• Starting at $199.99 with free installation and a 36-month monitoring agreement at $24.99/month
• $349.99 with no contract, plus $199 installation and $29.99/month monitoring
Customers can also choose to add Vivint Smart Thermostat, Vivint Doorbell Camera Pro with Chime Extender, and Smart Lock to their HomeProtect system for an additional cost.
Under Vivint's separate fully integrated smart home offering (including energy management and security), now called HomeProtect Pro, Vivint has expanded integration and enhancement options under the program, which blends security, energy management, and convenience

Vivint said, "Starting at an everyday price of $599.99 with free professional installation by Vivint technicians, U.S. based in-house professional monitoring, and award-winning customer support, HomeProtect Pro allows anyone the chance to customize their perfect smart home around one of three bespoke packages designed around the company’s most popular system components."
"HomeProtect Pro customers can also choose to add any of Vivint’s full suite of innovative, fully integrated security, smart home, and energy management products, services, and technologies at an additional cost for even more customization, control, and comfort," Vivint said
For all plans, Vivint has launched a newly updated app which Vivint said, "offers an intuitive, personalized user experience giving customers instant control of their entire home from anywhere, at any time."
