Luminary Energy, LLC has filed a registration as an energy consultant in New York to serve large commercial and industrial customers
Mirroring statutory language, energy consultant is defined within the New York UBP as, "any person, firm, association or corporation who acts as [sic] broker in soliciting, negotiating or advising any electric or natural gas contract, or acts as an agent in accepting any electric or natural gas contract on behalf of an ESCO."
Luminary Energy was founded by Michael A. DeSocio (Mike DeSocio), CEO, a 23-year veteran of the New York Independent System Operator (NYISO) whose titles included Director, Market Design
Luminary Energy has offered energy management and wholesale market participation services focused on generation owners, developers, large loads, and grid-connected energy stakeholders, including wholesale market advisory & NYISO representation, capacity market forecasting, new resource development, and grid interconnection support.
Luminary Energy has said that plans are actively underway to expand such services into the PJM and ISO New England territories
Jennifer Kearney recently joined Luminary Energy as Chief Development Officer. Previously, Kearney was an Executive Partner & Founder of broker Gotham 360, and served as President, Sustainability at Environ Energy.
Ray Stalter also recently joined Luminary Energy as Chief Operating Officer. Stalter previously served as Director, Regulatory Affairs at NYISO, and as Market/Regulatory Program Director at Edison Mission Marketing & Trading
Eve Marenghi serves as Director of Data Analytics at Luminary Energy. Marenghi previously served as Director of Data Science at Gotham 360 and Environ Energy
James Pigeon serves as Senior Director of Wholesale Markets at Luminary Energy. Pigeon previously held a variety of roles at NYISO, including Senior Manager, Energy Market Solutions
