The following story is brought free of charge to readers by VertexOne, the exclusive EDI provider of EnergyChoiceMatters.com
EIF Channelview Retail Energy, LLC, an Option 2 retail electric provider, would pay $10,000 under a settlement with Staff of the Texas PUC to resolve alleged violations of 16 Texas Administrative Code (TAC) §§ 25.53(c)(1) and (c)(3), related to the filing of a required Emergency Operations Plan (EOP) and annual EOP updates.
The settlement states that because EIF Channelview was registered as a REP before April 15, 2022, EIF Channelview was required to file its EOP and an executive summary no later than April 18, 2022. Beginning in 2023, EIF Channelview was required to file an updated EOP or an affidavit by March 15th of each year in accordance with 16 TAC § 25.53(c)(3).
The settlement states that, "EIF Channelview late-filed its initial EOP and executive summary on February 25, 2025 -- 1,044 days after the deadline."
Under the stipulation, EIF Channelview agrees to make any necessary revisions to its internal policies and procedures necessary to ensure that it timely files its required EOP annual updates or annual affidavits for future calendar years.
