The following story is brought free of charge to readers by VertexOne, the exclusive EDI provider of EnergyChoiceMatters.com
A January 27 auction to determine the Retail Price Adjustment (RPA) for the Standard Choice Offer at Columbia Gas of Ohio resulted in an RPA of $2.25 per Mcf, for the period April 1, 2026 to March 31, 2027
That's 30% lower than the current Columbia Gas SCO RPA of $3.25 per Mcf
The auction results remain subject to approval by PUCO
The Retail Price Adjustment will be added to the NYMEX closing price for the prompt month to set the Standard Choice Offer rate.

At Columbia Gas of Ohio, there were 6 winning bidders in the 2026 auction, versus 7 winning bidders in the year-ago auction
There were 8 bidders who submitted a bid in the 2026 auction, versus 7 bidders who submitted a bid a year ago
Winning bidders will be kept confidential for a period of approximately 15 days
