Maryland State Delegate Ric Metzgar, Republican, wrote a letter to the Maryland PSC and leadership of Baltimore Gas & Electric, "to formally demand immediate action to reduce electric rates and to request clear, honest communication about what steps are being taken to bring relief to households across our state."

Metzgar's letter does not distinguish between supply and delivery rates in terms of sought relief, nor does it propose any specific mechanism for rate cuts

Metzgar does seek, "A clear, public explanation of what factors are driving current electric prices, including generation costs, infrastructure investments, regulatory fees, and any profit increases."

Metzgar also seeks stronger "consumer protections", without proposing specific protections
