The following story is brought free of charge to readers by VertexOne, the exclusive EDI provider of EnergyChoiceMatters.com
EnergySage, Inc. applied for an Ohio electric broker license to serve residential customers in all service areas, and is applying for broker licenses in Delaware, Washington, DC, Illinois,
Massachusetts, Maine, Maryland, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania.
As previously reported, EnergySage's parent, Schneider Electric, acquired broker WattBuy last year. EnergySage specifically stated that EnergySage recently acquired the assets of, and hired the employees of
WattB, Inc., "in order to grow and enhance our product coverage, including in the
retail energy choice market."
EnergySage is already registered as a Texas electric broker
EnergySage noted in its Ohio application that it is paid a referral fee by the Retail Electricity Providers,
ranging from zero to $125 per customer, sometimes with a separate residual fee, paid monthly
as long as the customers remain with the referred Retail Electricity Provider
EnergySage operates an online marketplace and comparison platform for solar, storage, and other home energy solutions
EnergySage said in the Ohio application that it will
market energy products in partnership with enterprises in the real estate, energy, and personal finance space. "These
partnerships present EnergySage to their customers as a platform to access energy products
and services," EnergySage noted
EnergySage also listed the use of search engine marketing and search engine optimization as a form of marketing
