Duke Energy Ohio is updating the electricity Rider UE-GEN, which recovers uncollectibles related to generation service

PUCO has approved the update, and Duke has filed a compliance tariff to implement the change

Rider UE-GEN is bypassable for shopping customers not served under Duke's purchase of receivables program. Shopping customers billed under POR must pay Rider UE-GEN, as must SSO customers

Rider UE-GEN was last updated in November 2024

Notably, for non-residential customers, Duke is updating Rider UE-GEN to be $0.24 per bill, a decrease from the current Rider UE-GEN charge of $1.66 per bill

For residential customers, Duke is setting Rider UE-GEN at $0.000897 per kWh, versus the current $0.002146 per kWh

The updates are effective for bills rendered beginning with the first billing cycle in March 2026 (effective March 2, 2026).
