The following story is brought free of charge to readers by VertexOne, the exclusive EDI provider of EnergyChoiceMatters.com
Green Mountain Energy Company informed the Georgia PSC that Green Mountain Energy Company will soon file to relinquish authority to serve residential natural gas customers in Georgia
Multiple other NRG-owned retail suppliers currently offer residential natural gas service in Georgia (specifically, Stream Energy and Xoom Energy had residential rates listed on the PSC's February monthly rate chart)
Green Mountain Energy Company stated that Green Mountain Energy Company is no longer accepting new residential customers in Georgia
Additionally, Green Mountain Energy Company said that it no longer offers "standard" fixed or variable rates to residential customers in Georgia
In light of such, Green Mountain Energy Company sought a waiver from the PSC's rule requiring the monthly filing by retail suppliers of standard rates, under Rule 515-7-3-.04(14), until such time as Green Mountain Energy Company's marketer license reflects the relinquishment of residential service authority
In Georgia, Green Mountain Energy Company had been offering residential customers a carbon offset plan
