The Retail Energy Supply Association said in a motion to intervene that it is, "very concerned," with the recent Pennsylvania PUC ex parte Emergency Order that instituted a lower price cap on quarterly supply rate changes at UGI Utilities - Gas Division (lowering the permissible supply rate change to 10% from the current cap of 25%)

See background on the emergency price cap order, which had been first reported by EnergyChoiceMatters.com, here

RESA's motion to intervene was filed in a recently opened UGI - Gas rate case proceeding (R-2025-3059523).

Of the cap on supply rate increases, addressed in separate Docket P-2026-3060521, RESA said that the cap would further distort the market

RESA also raised concerns with UGI with regards to supplier-utility interactions and choice tariffs and rules, which are typical areas of review in Pennsylvania rate cases

RESA stated, "RESA has a has concerns about operational requirements including penalties and application of UGI’s curtailment policies and OFO/OMOs."

"RESA also is concerned that UGI is not timely implementing certain programs to which it agreed in the settlement of its 2025 rate case," RESA said

"These are in addition to ongoing concerns about interactions with suppliers and general sharing of pertinent information in a timely basis," RESA said

As previously reported by EnergyChoiceMatters.com, UGI has, in the rate case, sought customary updates to the POR discount rates and MFCs
