NRG Reports Increase In Home Customer Counts In Texas, East

In a 10-K, NRG reported that its retail Home customer count increased versus September 30, 2025 in Texas and in its East segment
Home customer count includes recurring residential customers and community choice, NRG states
As of December 31, 2025, NRG's retail Home customer count in Texas was 2.860 million, up from 2.844 million as of September 30, 2025, but down versus the December 31, 2024 total of 2.909 million
As of December 31, 2025, NRG's retail Home customer count for the East segment was 2.122 million, up from 2.115 million as of September 30, 2025, but down versus the December 31, 2024 total of 2.191 million
As of December 31, 2025, NRG's retail Home customer count for the West/Other segment was 650,000, versus 648,000 as of December 31, 2024. A comparison to September 30, 2025 is not available due to a change in customer categorization discussed further below
In aggregate, NRG reported that its retail Home customer count as of December 31, 2025 was 5.632 million, versus 5.748 million as of December 31, 2024.
The year-over-year retail Home comparison is apples to apples and reflects in both years NRG's removal, from the Home customer count, of "Home Protection" customers, which are now included in the Vivint Smart Home category (though such Home Protection customers are described as "non-Vivint" customers)
The previously reported Home customer count as of September 30, 2025, from a 10-Q, included "Services" customers in the total (as part of West/Other), and thus an aggregate comparison of retail Home customer counts is not possible between September 30, 2025 and December 31, 2025

For NRG's Vivint Smart Home category, customer count as of December 31, 2025 was 2.419 million. This includes 67,000 Home Protection (non-Vivint) customers
For NRG's Vivint Smart Home category, customer count as of December 31, 2024 had been 2.226 million. This includes 72,000 Home Protection (non-Vivint) customers
