NRG Names Former Google Global Head of Energy Market Development As Chief Growth & Policy Officer

NRG Energy Inc. announced the appointment of Caroline Golin as Chief Growth and Policy Officer.
Golin has more than two decades of experience in energy strategy, market development, and product innovation.
NRG said that Golin will focus on driving the strategic execution of key business initiatives that support reliability and affordability as energy demand grows, including the expansion of data center opportunities and residential virtual power plant (VPP) programs. In this capacity, Golin will also lead NRG’s Government and Regulatory Affairs functions.
Previously, Golin was Global Head of Energy Market Development and Innovation at Google, where she led energy strategy, new product innovation, and partnership development to support the company’s energy and digital infrastructure needs
Most recently, Golin was the Founder and CEO of Envision Energy Advisors, which offered consulting and related services to address complex challenges related to grid planning, capital structuring, procurement strategy, and cross-sector partnerships.
