Nstar Files For 35% Increase In Residential POR Discount Rate

Nstar (Eversource) in Massachusetts has filed new electricity standard complete billing percentages (SCBPs), or purchase of receivables (POR) discount rates, proposed to be effective May 1, 2026
All proposed discounts would apply to all of Nstar's Massachusetts electric territories (no territory-specific SCBPs)
Nstar proposes to set the residential POR discount at 2.10%, or 35% higher than the current discount of 1.55%.
The proposed 2.10% residential POR discount includes an uncollectibles component of 1.74% and a reconciliation component of 0.36%
For commercial customers, Nstar proposes to set the commercial POR discount at 0.58%, versus the current 0.65% (the commercial class includes the "Other" class category)
For industrial customers, Nstar proposes to set the industrial POR discount at 0.03%, versus the current 0.41%
