The following story is brought free of charge to readers by VertexOne, the exclusive EDI provider of EnergyChoiceMatters.com
The Maryland PSC approved, as filed, new new non-residential purchase of receivables (POR) discount rates for electricity at Baltimore Gas & Electric, effective June 1, 2026
For electricity, the Type I POR discount is set at 0% as of June 1, 2026, down from the previous discount of 0.0406%.
The BGE electric Type II and hourly POR discounts remain unchanged at 0%
BGE's non-residential electric POR discounts are below:
BGE's annual update to the natural gas POR discount was previously approved by the PSC. For natural gas service at BGE, the General Service - Schedule C POR discount remains unchanged at 0%
For all discounts in this story, the current and new 0% discounts reflect a zero-ing out of the negative discounts which result from the POR discount rate calculation, consistent with PSC precedent
No POR discount updates were made for residential service, as residential POR ended on Dec. 31, 2025, apart from cancels/rebills and similar revisions to prior receivables. The reconciliation of the final residential POR balances is subject to a previously reported process
