Mercuria-Owned Retail Supplier Amber Energy Services Receives License In PJM State
The following story is brought free of charge to readers by VertexOne, the exclusive EDI provider of EnergyChoiceMatters.com
The PUC of Ohio granted Amber Energy Services, LLC a retail electric supplier license to serve commercial, industrial, and mercantile customers in all service areas
As first reported by EnergyChoiceMatters.com, Amber Energy Services is 100% owned by Mercuria Energy America, LLC, which is part of global commodities firm Mercuria
Amber Energy Services is certificated in Texas as an Option 2 REP, and its expansion to markets outside of Texas had been first reported by EnergyChoiceMatters.com earlier this year
Amber has said that it was originally set up as a retail entity in Texas to supply power to a bitcoin mining facility, and has remained focused strictly on commercial and industrial customers. "We believe that the retail license is a perfect complement to our wholesale business and results in a more seamless experience for the customer. As the digital infrastructure buildout intensifies, Amber believes there are new business opportunities to pursue outside of Texas," Amber said in its Ohio application
