Former Consumer Counsel Joins Utility Holding Co., Which Owns Several Utilities With Choice Programs, As Vice President of Energy Policy

Avangrid, Inc. today announced that Elin Swanson Katz has been appointed Vice President of Energy Policy.
In this role, Katz will lead the company’s public policy strategy across its electric and gas utilities and power generation businesses, overseeing engagement on energy policy, regulatory priorities, and stakeholder collaboration, Avangrid said
Katz, through 2019, previously served as Connecticut’s Consumer Counsel
More recently, Katz served as the founding Director of the Office of Public Participation at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, and as a Consumer Protection Expert at the U.S. Department of Energy.
Avangrid's utility portfolio includes, among other distribution companies, NYSEG, Rochester Gas & Electric, United Illuminating, and Central Maine Power
Avangrid also owns Avangrid Power, LLC which owns various competitive generation installations
