PUC Posts Draft Form To Allow Customers To Elect Expedited Return To Default Service, Seeks Comments
The following story is brought free of charge to readers by VertexOne, the exclusive EDI provider of EnergyChoiceMatters.com
The PUC of Ohio has posted a draft certified-request form which retail electric suppliers would use to effect an expedited return to default service for a mercantile customer
As previously reported, HB 15 of 2025 allows only mercantile customers to request an expedited return to the standard service offer, to be completed within 3 business days of a request, provided that the customer's retail supplier contract allows for such an expedited return
Utilities may recover, from retail suppliers, the administrative costs of processing requests for a mercantile customer's expedited return to the SSO
PUCO's draft certified-request form for an expedited return of a mercantile customer to SSO is posted here (click here)
The certified form would be filed by the retail supplier, not the customer
Stakeholders may provide comments to PUCO Staff on the draft form
