PUC Staff Recommend Level For Alternative Compliance Payment
The following story is brought free of charge to readers by VertexOne, the exclusive EDI provider of EnergyChoiceMatters.com
Staff of the PUC of Ohio have recommended that the alternative compliance payment be set as $67.67/MWh for 2026, as derived under R.C. 4928.64(C)(2)(b)
Generally, the annual ACP adjustment is based on the consumer price index, but statute also enables the Commission to increase the alternative compliance payment level if utilities and retail suppliers are defaulting to the ACPs rather than purchasing the requisite renewable resources
Staff does not recommend increasing the ACP beyond the $67.67/MWh price which results from the standard CPI calculation
Case 26-0682-EL-ACP
