PUCO Approves National Fuel Gas Company Acquisition Of Vectren Utility Without Conditions Sought By Retail Supplier
The following story is brought free of charge to readers by VertexOne, the exclusive EDI provider of EnergyChoiceMatters.com
The PUC of Ohio approved the sale of Vectren Energy Delivery of Ohio, LLC, to National Fuel Gas Company
While PUCO adopted several conditions unrelated to the retail market in approving the acquisition, PUCO denied the conditions related to natural gas capacity that had been sought by IGS Energy, including an IGS recommendation that PUCO require National Fuel Gas Company to expand the amount of pipeline capacity made available to competitive retail natural gas suppliers operating in the Vectren Ohio service territory
PUCO found that IGS's proposed conditions were beyond those necessary to review the sale
PUCO also said, "The Commission further notes that VEDO and NFGC state in their reply comments that they are not seeking approval in this proceeding for any changes to VEDO’s tariffed Energy Choice Program provisions."
