Governor Vetoes Bill Which Includes Price Cap For Certain Electric Customers

Ohio Governor Mike DeWine vetoed the Substitute version of HB 173, governing submetering and submetered electric rates, that had passed the Ohio House and Senate

Substitute HB 173 had passed the Senate with enough votes to override a veto, but the most recent House vote on the Substitute bill would be 4 votes shy of a veto override. The original version of HB 173 passed by the House, which differs in material respects versus the Substitute ultimately passed (including setting the price cap as the total bill SSO rate and not 3% lower), had received veto-proof support
