New Retail Energy Broker To Provide Residential Resiliency Services In Pennsylvania

Patel Energy LLC, a start-up, has re-filed for a Pennsylvania electric broker/marketer license to serve residential, small commercial, large commercial, and industrial customers in all service areas
Patel Energy LLC previously applied for a Pennsylvania broker license last year, but withdrew the application without prejudice as it gathered the information needed for licensure
Among other services, Patel Energy said that, for residential customers, "Patel Energy will provide distributed energy systems with the
intention of solving customers power resiliency needs during outages from weather
disturbances or other factors. Patel Energy will provide this solution through a Resiliency
Agreement, which may involve brokering the customers power supply."
"Patel Energy's primary focus will
be to provide Reliability Services with power commodity brokerage included within the
scope of the Resiliency Agreement," Patel Energy said, but the company may also engage in brokering independent of any Resiliency Agreement if desired by the customer
Patel Energy will also provide "demand response and ancillary
services" to customers across Pennsylvania, as well as utility bill management
services including data and analytics.
Manishkumar Patel serves as President of Patel Energy. Manishkumar Patel is a professional engineer with over two decades of experience in energy engineering and systems, including HVAC, boilers, chillers, and energy conservation measures, with prior roles including senior mechanical engineer at the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. Patel has owned various properties and businesses in which Patel has engaged in energy consulting and analysis, including bill analysis, energy supply contract reviews, EV charging infrastructure implementation, and peak demand and energy conservation measures.
