Energy Consultant Backed By PE Acquires Retail Energy Broker

Ohio-based broker-consultant Sustainable Energy Services, LLC (SES, recently converted to an LLC from a corporation) has been acquired by Pilot Energy (or an affiliate of Pilot Energy)
Zaheer Dhruv, CEO of Pilot Energy, now serves as the CEO of Sustainable Energy Services
Laura Zittnan Sherman, Sustainable Energy Services's former CEO, will continue to manage Sustainable Energy Services's day-to-day operations
"The operations of SES have not changed and will continue as they have since 2013," SES said in a regulatory filing
Pilot Energy (Pilot Power Group) is a portfolio company of Boyne Capital
Boyne had in January 2026 announced that Boyne had closed a single-asset secondary transaction to extend its partnership with Pilot Energy, with such transaction, among other things, supporting additional M&A for Pilot. Pilot previously acquired Trebel and Worthington Energy Consultants
In January 2026, Boyne had said of such transaction: "This transaction arms Pilot with additional capital to pursue rapid M&A and continue investing behind its platform and customer facing technology suite.
