Texas PUC Staff Proposes Cost Allocation To Specific Retail Providers For Broadcasts Of PUCT Meetings (Indicates Whether A REP Is Serving At Least 250,000 Customers)

Staff of the Texas PUC have filed proposed cost allocations to retail electric providers for the cost of online broadcasting of PUCT meetings for FY 2027
PURA provides that a retail electric provider that serves more than 250,000 customers shall be subject to such an assessment.
There is no change in the specific retail electric providers which are proposed to be subject to the FY 2027 assessment compared to the FY 2026 assessment, indicating that no REP has newly crossed (in either direction) the 250,000 customer threshold compared to a year-ago (comparing the two specific points at which the assessments were made)
For those entities subject to the assessment, the specific assessment proposed by Staff is allocated among the group members based on the size of the company, thus providing a relative size metric for such included companies. The overall cost allocated to the subject REPs has decreased for FY 2027 (accounting for some of the specific REP dollar changes year over year), from an aggregate of $45,900 a year ago to $45,000 for FY 2027.
