PUC Extends Deadline To File Comments On Questions To Implement New Opt-Out Aggregation Law

The Natural Resources Council of Maine has requested an extension until September 18, 2026 for parties to file responses to questions from the Maine PUC to inform the development of rules governing opt-out municipal aggregation
As first reported by EnergyChoiceMatters.com, a new Maine law authorizes opt-out CCAs, and the PUC has sought comment on questions about how to mitigate any impact on default service, the length of the opt-out period, and when pricing disclosures would be made to customers who could be enrolled on an opt-out basis

The Natural Resources Council of Maine requested that the comment deadline be extended to September 18, 2026
