Regulator Dismisses Show Cause Order Against Retail Supplier; Fines Two Other Suppliers

The Illinois Commerce Commission dismissed with prejudice a show cause order previously issued against Illinois Power Marketing Company, LLC d/b/a Homefield Energy, after Homefield provided sufficient evidence that Homefield had filed a report that ICC Staff had originally alleged had not been filed (Docket 26-0208)
Staff had originally alleged that Homefield did not file an annual call center report by March 1, 2023, and Staff had proposed a fine of $7,500.
Homefield provided courier tracking and recipient receipt data showing that the report had been filed, and Staff withdrew the proposed fine.
Separately, the ICC fined MP2 Energy NE LLC, d/b/a Shell Energy Solutions Retail Services, $500 to resolve allegations that MP2 failed to file a Quarterly Environmental Disclosure Statement in accordance with 83 Ill. Adm. Code 421.30 due in January 2024. The $250 fine is an agreed payment and is half of an initially proposed penalty, reflecting that MP2 came into compliance within 30 days of a show cause order (Docket 26-0213)
Separately, the ICC fined Inspire Energy Holdings, LLC $500 for alleged failure to file Environmental Disclosure Statements due in July 2022 and October 2023. The $500 fine is an agreed payment and is half of an initially proposed penalty for the relevant reports, reflecting that Inspire came into compliance within 30 days of a show cause order. Notably, Staff had also originally alleged that Inspire had not filed an Environmental Disclosure Statement for 2024, but Staff later agreed that Inspire had demonstrated that such report had been filed, and Staff withdrew a proposed penalty related to the 2024 report.
