Texas PUC Staff Propose Cost Allocation To REPs For Low-Income Matching Service, As 5 REP Groups Seek List

Staff of the Texas PUC have proposed the cost allocation to retail electric providers who have opted to receive information under the low-income customer identification service, for the State fiscal year beginning on September 1, 2026 (FY2027).
When grouping parents and/or affiliates together, five retail electric provider groups sought to participate in the low-income customer identification service, as did Entergy Texas
NRG and Vistra each proposed to contribute $23,333 to the cost of the service, with Staff allocating the remaining balance among other companies which have opted-in
Staff's proposed cost allocation for each entity is below:
• NRG Retail: (for Direct Energy LP,
Green Mountain Energy Company,
Reliant Energy Retail Services LLC,
Stream SPE, Ltd.,
US Retailers LLC, and
Xoom Energy Texas LLC): $23,333
• Vistra Corp (for Ambit Texas, TriEagle Energy LP, TXU Energy Retail Company LLC, and Value Based Brands, LLC): $23,333
• Amigo Energy:
$3,889
• Champion Energy Services:
$3,889
• Just Energy: $3,889
• Rhythm Ops, LLC: $3,889
• Tara Energy: $3,889
• Entergy Texas (ETI): $3,889
