New Texas Broker, Which Has ".ai" Domain, To Provide Letter Grade For Each Retail Electric Plan Submitted By Users (Via Bill)
The following story is brought free of charge to readers by VertexOne, the exclusive EDI provider of EnergyChoiceMatters.com
Kamilion LLC d/b/a Eyebiss, a start-up, registered as a Texas electric broker
Eyebiss describes itself as a technology company and, in addition to providing Texas residential retail electricity plan analysis, indicates that it will offer similar services for HVAC, roofing, and insurance
Eyebiss allows users to upload a bill and will
simulate the customer's usage against other plan structures.
Eyebiss also provides a letter grade (A through F) for the customer's current plan based on the bill and the customer's usage from the bill, and whether the customer's usage fits the plan's characteristics. As a sample, Eyebiss may grade a plan as "C, Questionable Fit" if, based on the customer's uploaded bill and usage, "The pricing works in your favor in one narrow usage band and works against you outside of it."
Eyebiss's analysis of plans provides an "estimated savings opportunity," but the information stresses that, "Potential savings are an estimate produced by simulating your observed usage against other plan structures. eyebiss does not guarantee savings."
"eyebiss is not a quote form. It is an analysis of the bill you already have -- the same way a good advisor would read it, line by line, before saying anything about switching," Eyebiss states
Eyebiss uses an, ".ai" domain name, but Eyebiss's website does not explicitly state that its analyses rely on or otherwise use artificial intelligence
Eyebiss does state that its service will, "explain the recommendation and its limits".
"One bill is one bill. Where the data is thin, eyebiss labels the confidence level and says what would make the answer sharper," Eyebiss states
In a review of a sample summer bill for a usage credit plan (in which the sample customer reached the bill credit threshold for this summer month), Eyebiss notes, "This analysis is based on a single summer statement, which is typically one of the higher usage months in North Texas. Additional history -- especially a shoulder month and a winter month -- would materially improve the precision of these estimates."
In a sample, other data points which Eyebiss states would give more confidence to its analysis would be:
• Additional historical usage -- ideally 6 to 12 months
• A winter statement to capture heating behavior
• Confirmation of your contract end date and early termination fee
"eyebiss separates what your bill states (facts), what eyebiss computed from it (calculations), and what had to be assumed to price alternatives (assumptions). Where confidence is limited, eyebiss says so rather than rounding it away," Eyebiss states
Michael Clay Patterson, who has a background in data analytics, is listed as owner of Kamilion LLC
Kamilion, under the Kamilion brand, offers various technology platforms for owner-operated companies, contractors, bakeries, restaurants, and other service businesses
The Kamilion brand describes itself as offering, "AI-powered growth and operations software for local businesses."
