New Broker TrueBill Energy LLC Registers In Texas, Currently Promotes Free Comparison Of Plans Based On Actual Usage

TrueBill Energy offers a retail electric comparison site in which plans are ranked based on costs under the user's estimated monthly bill based on SMT data, or user-inputted usage
TrueBill describes its core ranking principle as "Cost decides first. Risk decides ties." When two or more plans have the same estimated cost (within $1), TrueBill applies tie-breakers which prioritize lower risk of billing surprises (ranking as superior plans those without usage-based credits, etc)
TrueBill Energy's website states, "Advertised rates assume someone else's usage. We estimate your monthly bill for every plan, with EFL rates, TDU delivery charges, base fees, minimum-usage fees, and bill credits included, then rank plans by that number."
TrueBill Energy invites users to upload their Smart Meter Texas or Green Button usage file to get a more accurate cost estimate based on the user's real electricity usage pattern. Users may also manually enter the amount of their bill (or 12 months of bills)
TrueBill's comparisons use information from each plan's Electricity Facts Label
"Providers can't pay to move up the rankings," TrueBill states
TrueBill states that the comparison site is "Free to use" with "No account, no subscription, and no sales calls".
TrueBill's website currently states, "TrueBill Energy is currently a free tool. TrueBill Energy does not currently receive compensation from retail electric providers. Plan rankings are based on estimated cost at your usage -- never on compensation, sponsored placement, or provider relationships."
TrueBill Energy LLC is not affiliated with any other current (or former) Texas broker using the name True or "Tru" in their name
