AppDirect Formally Announces Acquisition Of Retail Energy Broker, Platform

AppDirect, a global provider of B2B subscription commerce solutions, has formally announced its acquisition of Broker Online Exchange (BOX)

AppDirect is described as offering a B2B commerce platform for selling, buying, and managing recurring technology services. Among other things, AppDirect offers digital procurement services and marketplaces, and related software and solutions
While BOX provides a platform and related services for independent brokers, BOX itself is a licensed retail energy broker in various states as part of offering this platform
"This acquisition positions AppDirect as a serious new entrant into the deregulated energy space -- backing the BOX broker community with expanded resources, next-gen technology tools, and access to a multi-category marketplace that includes energy, telecom, cloud, and AI solutions," AppDirect said

AppDirect said that BOX connects more than 2,000 independent energy brokers with retail energy suppliers in electricity and natural gas markets across North America. BOX's services and infrastructure will now be integrated into AppDirect’s expansive commerce platform.
AppDirect said that BOX will continue to operate independently, with no disruption to broker operations, contracts, or supplier relationships.
The BOX brand will remain in place, with its leadership team continuing to support brokers, partners, and suppliers under the AppDirect umbrella.
AppDirect said that, under the transaction, brokers gain access to AppDirect’s broader product catalog, including fiber internet, security, VoIP, cloud infrastructure, and AI solutions
AppDirect's platform has more than 1,000 providers, 10,000 advisors, and 5 million subscribers
